Looking for the perfect gift? Buy a $30,000 replica of the Iron Throne!

For just $30,000, you can purchase your very own replica of the Iron Throne and sit as comfortably as Dwight K. Schrute, Assistant to the Regional Manager.

Father’s Day is less than two weeks away, so if you’re like me, you’ll wait another 10 days, purchase the last semi-funny-but-mostly-corny card at CVS and pat yourself on the back. It’s a time-honored tradition on par with calling your college roommate the day after his birthday. That’s just the way things get done.

If you’re one of the overly ambitious types who wants to buy something early, however, I have the perfect gift for you. HBO IS NOW SELLING REPLICA IRON THRONES. For a paltry $30,000 (and an additional $1,800 for shipping), you can buy the greatest chair in the universe, a seat worthy of those screaming furiously at the TV while pondering how to kill Joffrey.

If you don’t want to spend $30,000 on good ‘ol dad, though, I’d still recommend acquiring one for yourself (or me). I’d also recommend using it in one of the following three ways, which you can view after the jump.

PPC’s experts break down the best and worst of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 2

Winter is coming … which is really shitty news, because it means another season of Game of Thrones is in the books and we’re facing a long, painful wait until Season 3 finally hits our screens. Before the grief really sets in, we Thrones enthusiasts at PPC wanted to share our thoughts on a highly entertaining second season.

SPOILER ALERT: Don’t read this if you haven’t seen every single second of every single episode of Seasons 1 and 2. You’ve been warned.

Game of Thrones Power Rankings: Valar Morghulis

Welcome to the Season 2 finale edition of Punching Pete Campbell’s Game of Thrones Power Rankings. Before proceeding, be sure to review last week’s rankings to track the movement. We’ve got a new No. 1 and lots of other risers and sliders after an epic 70-minute finale that closed some loops and opened countless others. Season 3 can’t get here soon enough.

Three major factors go into our rankings: 1) overall likability/how much we want the character to die, 2) developments from the most recent episode and 3) how much actual power the characters currently hold in the show. And of course, there’s our own subjectivity, which we won’t hide.

One last very important order of business: SPOILER ALERT: The following entries contain information from the most recent episode of Game of Thrones: “Valar Morghulis” (Season 2, Episode 10).

Game of Thrones Power Rankings: Blackwater

Welcome to Punching Pete Campbell’s fifth edition of the Game of Thrones Power Rankings. Before proceeding, be sure to review last week’s rankings to track the movement. We’ve got a new No. 1 after Sunday’s epic Battle of the Blackwater, which shook up our rankings almost as much as it shook up the clash of kings in Westeros.

Three major factors go into our rankings: 1) overall likability/how much we want the character to die, 2) developments from the most recent episode and 3) how much actual power the characters currently hold in the show. And of course, there’s our own subjectivity, which we won’t hide.

Game of Thrones street art: Tyrion straight (p)impin

Tyrion Lannister graffiti

A buddy emailed this to me and I had to share with the PPC faithful. I don’t have much info on it, other than it’s a corner in Bloomsberry, a neighborhood on the north side of London that often has badass murals. Oh, and MR once lived less than five blocks away. Who’d a thunk it?

Tip of the flat brim to @shizazaraz

Game of Thrones Power Rankings: The Prince of Winterfell

Welcome to Punching Pete Campbell’s fourth edition of the Game of Thrones Power Rankings. Before proceeding, be sure to review last week’s rankings to track the movement. This week’s satisfying episode was all about building to the season’s conclusion, and fear was the pervasive theme as the characters moved toward war.

Three major factors go into our rankings: 1) overall likability/how much we want the character to die, 2) developments from the most recent episode and 3) how much actual power the characters currently hold in the show. And of course, there’s our own subjectivity, which we won’t hide.

Game of Thrones RPG: Video Game trailer review

Want to wander the streets of Westeros? Now you can. Sort of.

Game of Thrones: The Game lets you step into a parallel world penned by George R.R. Martin himself. You control two players, Mors, a brother of the Night’s Watch, and Alester, a fire priest, in a new role-playing game. Much like the format of the novels, their perspectives will be completely separated in chapters. The story is original, so don’t necessarily expect to capture Tyrion on the King’s Road. In fact, don’t expect there to even be a Tyrion (a travesty, I know).

From the trailer above and the description on the official site, it’s hard to tell how much overlap there will really be between the game and the novels/show. Is that Lannister red in the opening? Lord Commander Mormont at the one-minute mark? Perhaps Ilyn Payne at 1:18 and Varys the Spider at 1:45? Seems like it, but hard to tell for certain.

Unfortunately, the game isn’t doing too well on the GameStop user reviews page, but I’ll post anything GoT related, so at least enjoy the trailer.

Game of Thrones Power Rankings: A Man Without Honor

Welcome to Punching Pete Campbell’s third edition of the Game of Thrones Power Rankings. Before proceeding, be sure to review last week’s rankings to track the movement. It wasn’t a great episode this week, but we’ve got a new face (or two) vying for the top spot while some of last week’s major climbers tumbled out of the top 10.

Three major factors go into our rankings: 1) overall likability/how much we want the character to die, 2) developments from the most recent episode and 3) how much actual power the characters currently hold in the show. And of course, there’s our own subjectivity, which we won’t hide.

New ‘Time’ cover features Lysa Arryn?

When Catelyn Stark first traveled to the Eyrie seeking her sister Lysa’s help in dealing with those pesky Wannisters (said in Elmer Fudd voice), she came to a terrible realization: Lysa fell off the deep end and brought her runt of a son with her! The creep-o-meter went through the roof when the breastfeeding began. “But I’m hungry!” Then go get a bowl of Cookie Crisp and stop grabbing your mother’s tits!

Needless to say, we at PPC were shocked by the impact Game of Thrones had on the outside world when Time decided to follow suit with a similarly creepy cover photo. I’m certainly no expert on motherhood, but here are three quick takeaways:

Game of Thrones Power Rankings: The Old Gods and the New

Welcome to Punching Pete Campbell’s second edition of the Game of Thrones Power Rankings. Before proceeding, be sure to review last week’s rankings, which barely resemble this week’s edition after pretty much every major character took a steaming pile of crap (literally, in one case) to the face Sunday night.

Three major factors go into our rankings: 1) overall likability/how much we want the character to die, 2) developments from the most recent episode and 3) how much actual power the characters currently hold in the show. And of course, there’s our own subjectivity, which we won’t hide.
