‘Game of Thrones’ introduction remade with LEGOs

*****

Overall, I give this remake of the Game of Thrones introduction a solid A-minus. I had hoped to hear back from the creator to find out what went into doing this, how many people worked on it and how long it took, but alas, the YouTube user didn’t reply to my request for comment. So here are a few quick takeaways.

1: Love the way the creator used moving parts at King’s Landing to complement its vertical construction, though some of those don’t really look like LEGOs. If you’re branding it as LEGOs, don’t use K’NEX.  (Or maybe that’s the “Clash”?)

2. Great use of lighting to set the varying moods of each keep. The opening shot of King’s Landing didn’t utilize lighting quite as much, but the dark shots of Harrenhal reflect the cursed holdfast and the blue backlight of Pyke visualizes the importance of the sea to the Iron Islands.

3. Dig the music, which sounds almost like it came from a symphony pit.

4. Too bad there’s no Winterfell, our favorite keep in Westeros. And I’d love to see what they could do with the Eyrie.

Bonus: Check out the Simpsons adaptation of the Game of Thrones intro after the jump.
